The Green line is especially useful for travelers to the Greek islands since it connects the city center with Piraeus port. It is considered the most popular, easiest and cheapest way to reach the port. The Red line is an underground metro line that runs from the western suburbs Anthoupoli to the Southern Elliniko. It has 18 metro stations, including the "Stathmos Larissis" station which is connected with the Central Railway station for trains that travel to Greece and abroad.
Furthermore, " Omonoia", "Panepistimio", "Syntagma", "Akropoli" and "Syggrou Fix" are the most popular stations in Athens located in the city center. Last but not least, if you want to reach the Athens Riviera and the beaches, it is in the "Elliniko" metro station that you have to disembark and continue with a bus or a tram.
The Blue line is an underground metro line that runs from Piraeus, passes through the city Center and several Northern suburbs and reaches Athens International Airport. It has in total 24 metro stations. Most of them are in central points of Athens such as "Monastiraki", "Syntagma" and "Evagelismos" while others serve the suburbs of Agia Paraskevi, Chalandri and Vrilisia.
